Dear Little River Junior/Senior High Parents and/or Guardians,
We enthusiastically welcome everyone back for another wonderful school year! We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and excitement for learning. We are dedicated to help students feel welcome, connected, and engaged in preparing for their futures. Additionally, we strive to challenge each and every student to grow in all capacities to facilitate graduating with the necessary knowledge and skills to be prepared for postsecondary success as employable individuals who are college and/or career ready. Our staff is dedicated to success and ensuring we are providing the very best for our students. Thank you for sharing your student(s) with us!
We have enhanced our curriculum this year by integrating eight additional pathways with our existing curriculum for career exploration. Students may now explore possible careers in agriculture, teaching, auto-mechanics, audio-visual broadcasting, health sciences, biomedical, engineering, biochemistry, finance, construction & design, and family and consumer science. We have integrated career cruising to supplement the quest for career exploration, and students will create individual plans of study with short-term and long-term goals. Junior high students will have more elective choices with options to begin in agriculture and technical programs. Junior high students will also be enrolled in automation & robotics with design and modeling.
We have welcomed new staff members to our Little River family, and it is with great pleasure to announce our new staff! We will introduce our new staff at the parent information night scheduled for August 22nd @ 6:00pm in the high school auditorium.

Every teacher has been working diligently in their classrooms this summer to prepare for a new school year, even the new staff and coaches who are keeping up with rigorous training schedules. It is refreshing and inspiring to see so many going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our students are getting the best education.
It is an honor to serve as the Little River Junior/Senior High School principal. Please feel free to contact me any time at (620)897-6201. Additionally, my office door is always open. I am excited about the wonderful opportunity to work with all USD #444 patrons and students.
